Therapeutic Style
I believe that therapy is a real relationship between two people and this relationship is at the core of my work as a therapist. My approach to therapy incorporates authenticity and forming a genuine, trusting relationship that will allow you to feel validated and safe to explore your emotions and behaviors and learn ways to effectively manage them. I provide therapy through the lens of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, incorporating the techniques and skills available to help you develop a unique skillset to help you build a life you truly enjoy. Clients often come to me because traditional forms of talk therapy have not gotten them the results they have desired. I recognize that every person’s journey is unique and that is why I take a client-centered approach to tailor therapy to fit your individual needs and goals. Therapy with me will look different in that we will be focusing on developing specific coping skills that you will be able to implement into your daily life. We may focus at the beginning of our work together working to decrease harmful or ineffective behaviors as well. Through our work, you’ll gain valuable skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
What Makes Me Unique
My DBT certification through the Linehan Board of Certification sets me apart. This specialized training makes me uniquely qualified to provide evidenced-based behavioral therapy to individuals and provide consultation to other professionals and programs. I also am a qualified supervisor in FL and available to work with Registered Interns.
Professional Journey
I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University and have worked in diverse clinical settings, ranging from residential treatment to private practice settings. Beyond my direct clinical work, I have held leadership roles, including serving as a program director. I am also a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified Clinician, bringing specialized expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Borderline Personality Disorder.
