Therapeutic Style
My therapeutic style is active, collaborative, and goal-oriented. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to provide science-backed support. As a proud, card-carrying geek and certified Geek Therapist, I'll often integrate references to geek culture into treatment (along with a healthy dose of humor) to make the process both engaging and meaningful. Overall, my core therapeutic philosophy is helping clients not just feel better, but *get* better.
What Makes Me Unique
I am a licensed mental health counselor and clinical supervisor with expertise in depression, anxiety, and suicide intervention. As one of the few suicide specialists in New York State, I have written and presented for multiple clinical organizations on suicide intervention and best practices for clinicians. I am certified by CAMS-care and the American Association of Suicidology, and hold additional certifications from the Beck and Albert Ellis Institutes in CBT and REBT. Drawing on my training and years of experience treating hundreds of suicidal patients, my biggest flex is that my expertise in de-escalation has resulted in *none* of my high-risk patients ever requiring involuntary hospitalization.

How to Start Advocating for Your Child at Any Age or Stage
Whether your baby was born early or full-term, parenting is a constant process of discovery. Even now, six years after I gave birth to my daughter, I tell her, “Sweetie, you and mommy are both learning on the job.” Some children hit their milestones effortlessly. Others need a little (or a lot) of extra support along the way. What matters most isn’t where your child starts; it’s how you respond when they need someone in their corner. Whether you’re navigating challenges now or simply want to feel more confident supporting your child in the future, this blog is for you. Advocating for your child isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about being prepared to ask questions, trust your instincts, and show up in ways that will help your child flourish.
