Therapeutic Style
My therapeutic approach is grounded in the understanding that healing from trauma, chronic stress, and pain requires working not only with thoughts and emotions, but also with the body and nervous system. Many of the individuals I work with are highly functioning and self-aware, yet continue to experience persistent stress responses, physical tension, or a sense of disconnection from their bodies despite previous therapy. For these clients, insight alone is often not enough. I integrate evidence-based psychotherapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches, within a trauma-informed, somatic framework. These approaches are applied flexibly and collaboratively, with careful attention to nervous system capacity, safety, and pacing. When appropriate, we work directly with trauma-related thoughts, avoidance patterns, and emotional responses, while also incorporating body-based strategies to support regulation and integration. In our work together, the focus is on restoring a felt sense of safety, increasing body awareness, and building sustainable regulation without pushing, reliving, or overwhelming the nervous system. Therapy is paced, choice-based, and consent-centered, allowing clients to actively shape the process. By blending empirically supported treatments with somatic and trauma-informed practices, I aim to support healing that is effective, long-lasting, and embodied.
What Makes Me Unique
My approach is unique in its integration of evidence-based psychotherapy with trauma-informed, body-centered care to address trauma, anxiety, and depression. By combining CPT, PE, CBT, and ACT with somatic and yoga-informed practices, I support healing at both the psychological and nervous system levels in a way that is effective, paced, and responsive. Through this integrative model, I enhance the community by expanding access to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that promotes long-term regulation, resilience, and functional well-being. This approach helps individuals reduce distress while building sustainable skills for recovery, engagement, and overall mental health.

Coping with “Invisible Grief” During the Holidays
Grief is complicated, complex and heavy. As a grief therapist and an active griever myself, I know how difficult the holidays can feel especially when you are coping with disenfranchised grief, or “invisible grief” as I like to call it. After a while, all grief feels invisible in western culture, we barely acknowledge grief, even though it is a natural part of life and something we all go through. However, there is some grief that we are truly given no tools for, and it feels like we do not have any space at all to grieve.
