Therapeutic Style
As a clinician-scientist, I combine the heart of therapy with the rigor of science. I provide personalized, evidence-based care designed around your individual goals and experiences. Every treatment plan begins with a comprehensive, whole-person assessment and evolves as we learn what works best for you. Clients often come to therapy to change unhelpful patterns, manage the effects of stress or trauma, or develop stronger coping and communication skills. Some people aren’t sure what they need—only that something isn’t working. Wherever you’re starting, we’ll figure it out together.
What Makes Me Unique
I have over a decade of experience as a clinician scientist. I have worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient programs. I’ve also served in a variety of roles including as a case manager, therapist, group leader, clinical director, training director, and supervisor. Additionally, I am a tenure track professor at the City University of New York.

Coping with “Invisible Grief” During the Holidays
Grief is complicated, complex and heavy. As a grief therapist and an active griever myself, I know how difficult the holidays can feel especially when you are coping with disenfranchised grief, or “invisible grief” as I like to call it. After a while, all grief feels invisible in western culture, we barely acknowledge grief, even though it is a natural part of life and something we all go through. However, there is some grief that we are truly given no tools for, and it feels like we do not have any space at all to grieve.
